 "Really BAD feedback!" 2009-08-03
By Bethany (WA, USA)
All incoming callers hear an echo. We purchased this headset and complained to the seller that it is defective and we were unhappy about it. The seller sent us a SECOND headset (we now own two), but the second one STILL has really bad feedback for incoming callers. I guess this wouldn't be a bad piece for someone using it in their car and wanting something cheap. BUT, if you are looking for something for actual phone conversations... DO NOT BUY THIS HEADSET!

PS My long distance boyfriend (the one wearing the headset) just commented that it is 4/5 stars for the person wearing it, 1/5 stars for the person calling in. :(

 "Pretty, Pricey, Pretty Pricey." 2007-03-01
By J. Wang (Seattle, WA)
I ordered my H3 headset from amazon (brand new) and it shipped pretty quickly. Out of the box, charged it for only half an hour before playing around with it. The instructions seemed overly simple on the pamphlet, and they really are. The phone connects quickly and simply.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS-

+The small design is very pleasing, and really does fit the RAZR style.

+Blue light flashes in a cool manner.

-In the light, the blue flash is very weak.

-The ear grip is pretty flimsy; move your head around long enough, it WILL fall off. (But if you're just driving around, you shouldn't worry.) (A note on this, while it can fall off with excessive movements of the head, you can still walk around and move your head normally.. just be cautious.)

+Long battery life! My phone actually runs out of batteries way before my headset even needs a recharge.

-The call button on the headset is pretty hard to press, but it's not that annoying.

With most headsets, people say that people cannot hear their voices too well. With mine, so far nobody can tell I am using a headset. The only difference is that EVERYTHING is picked up-they can hear conversations from other people around me. This may be a problem in a windy day, but I think you will be more worried about the headset blowing off than the person hearing you.

Volume control is fine and easy to use. However, you will want to keep it maxed, so you can hear the other person talking clearly. Not a problem there, I need my phone on volume seven anyways to hear anyone.

There is a little static that happens once in a while, but it usually does not happen. My phone is usually in my pocket when I'm walking around, but I can walk around a large room without noticing any difference in sound qualities.

The main problems of this headset is that the grip is pretty loose, but apparently that is a problem with most other headsets. There was a complaint in one of the reviews saying that the plastic does not lock properly- upon close examination, the hinge is made out of plastic; over time and excessive rotation of the ear grip, it will wear away and become less secure. (In order to attach the headset to your head, you need to rotate the hinge, so you can't avoid it) - I do believe you can order spares, as the entire part is removable to allow use on either ear.

For those of you who don't mind a bit of difficulty in getting their headsets to fit properly (It takes a bit of time, but I can get it to attach pretty securely with a little effort-over time, this becomes easier), this is a VERY good headset. Overall, clear sounds, long battery life, fast and easy connections. Just don't lose it!

"Shoddy manufacturing make it an iffy proposition." 2007-02-12
By M. Harris
Out of the box mine had one of the buttons dead. No click. Nothing. When I returned it for exchange, the saleperson said that's typical of this headset, and only from Motorola. Cellphones good, H3 headset junk.

In fact he said that they (Cellular Sales - a Verizon dealer store) were dropping the Motorola H3 because of the exceedingly high number of returns and were sticking with just the Plantronics - which I then had him exchange my shoddy H3 with.

So mine out of the box essentially DOA with a major dealer dropping them because of this.
