 "Iluv them!" 2009-11-16
By D. BENNETT
I purchased these through the recommendationfrom a friend and I am not dissappointed. I have a set of Bose over the ear noise cancelling headphones that cost over $300.00 and I actually use the Iluv headphones more because of the bluetooth feature. I really don't feel that I lose that much with the less expensive set. I only loose some reception if I walk from room to room. Those that have given bad reviews simply expect way too much for a wireless set at this price. I also like the fact that all of the necessary components are included. These headphones fold up and take up very little space when traveling. They are not quite as quiet as the ones that totally surround the ear but you don't give up very much for the convienience of the smaller size and freedom that the Iluv allows. I feel that this was an exceptional bargain.

"Bluetooth - no canceling headphone" 2009-05-04
By A. Zborowski (USA)
The headphones are good. Bluetooth worked fine with my Sony laptop. I did not have a chance to test the noise canceling feature on a plane, but it did not make any difference to home noise. The headphones sit comfortably on my small head. They can be too tight on big heads, though. The quality of materials seemed to be good.

"blu tooth headphones are great!" 2009-04-09

The ILuv blu tooth headsets are comfortable, the sound is good, and it's nice to have my phone handy for both listening to my audio books and for answering a call.

"They eventually snap right above the earpiece" 2008-12-11
By Stephen Vinoski (Chelmsford, MA USA)
I can't recommend these as they have a serious mechanical design flaw. After a few months my first pair snapped at the thin plastic where the headband connects to the earpiece. I sent them back to iLuv and they replaced them for free. The second pair broke just like the first. I was able to glue them back together but they just broke again. I'm now on my third pair, but this time I've glued some thick neoprene foam on the inside of the headband just above the earpieces so that it, not those thin plastic pieces, take the strain of the headband pushing inward. We'll see how long they last -- I don't hold out much hope.

If they'd fix this flaw, it would be a reasonably nice product. There's some buzzing as others have noticed, but it's not too bad, and other than that the sound is pretty good. The freedom from wires is very handy.

"fair audio + poor noise canceling = don't waste your money" 2008-10-25
By John (Michigan USA)
I ordered these hoping that the other reviews were being overly pessimistic. I was wrong. The other reviews are overly optimistic.

The Pros:

- They charge up and work as bluetooth headphones/headset.

- They fold up nicely into a compact package.

The Cons:

- No noise canceling when wearing normally on your head.

- They do not come with the advertised mini-USB cord to connect to my cell phone (the cord is a 3.5mm to mini-USB, and the headphone side needs the mini-USB)

- They are really ugly on your head.

- Musical performance is fair.

Functionality:

I bought these specifically for working in the server room and for the occasional flight on the turboprop commuter and cross-country flight. The noise in the server room is a lot like a commercial flight -- a constant white noise in the background focused in the mid-to-upper range. The bluetooth feature would have been great for the server room work as I walk around but would like to remain tethered to the laptop or cell phone without a cord. The goal of quieting the white noise is not accomplished with these headphones. The bluetooth feature works fine.

If I press the headphones very tightly to my head, so tightly that it hurts, then the noise canceling is noticeable. Wearing the headset normally, the noise canceling has no effect.

Acoustically, the headphones are fair. The bluetooth audio works fine. The sound is shallow in both corded and bluetooth mode, but slightly better in corded mode. Good audio quality is hard to achieve from an on-the-ear headphone, but this set does not come close to my other headphones costing just $20-30. There is basically no bass, and the high end is also quite limited.

How they could be improved:

If these headphones were assembled into a solid and well-sealed around-the-ear design, they might work quite well.

Summary:

Do not buy these headphones. If you want bluetooth headphones, spend the 100 bucks on a nice audiophile around-the-ear set, and they'll do an as good or better job of noise canceling by simply sealing your ears from surrounding noise. If you want inexpensive noise-canceling headphones, go with the Plane Quiet NC-6 or NC-7 at 30-50% less money. Or, for even better noise canceling, and costing just pennies, get some foam earplugs.
