I ordered the Blue Ant X5i from Shopcell - an Amazon market place vendor. While the product was delivered promptly enough, alas - it wouldn't even switch on.



My first step was to call "BLUEANT" customer support (North America) . After a moderate wait I was able to get a live support rep. We went over diagnostics, but within the first minute of the call, his question was "How much did you pay for this product?"..When I answered $30 on Amazon.com - his response was " Must have been refurbished! - send it back to the seller!!"....When I mentioned the description says - brand new and it arrived in new packaging his answer didn't change.



At this point - it became pretty obvious that he'd lost all interest in the call and wanted to just get me off the phone...



Then I asked about their product warranty - I even have a product warranty card - he said, "call the seller first or return it to them!"....

What kind or condescending product support/warranty is this - product support has no business asking about product price...

I highly doubt their product warranty means anything to them or - or even if they will stand behind it.



Their product support and brand standards are probably just like their product - substandard and indifferent



Unfortunately I can't give them less than 1 star

Pros- looks rather fun and I love the gold shape.



Cons -- never worked. I plugged it in to fully charge the device, and then when I went to pair it, the device flashed wildly and then went dead. That was the end of my BlueAnt X3. Quite the bummer. Customer service took a week to respond to my e-mail for support help. My boyfriend has the black version and it's worked well for a year now. I can't recommend the gold version.

I was attracted to this product because it was small, cute and had 3 ways to charge it (computer/USB, electrical outlet & car charger). I have been pretty disappointed since I have been using it. The device constantly drops my calls and loses connection with my phone. I can manually pick up my phone and the other party is still on the line. I have had other bluetooth devices connected to my phone and did not experience this. You can't go very far from the phone before the device starts beeping- indicating that you are too far. People can hear me talking to them rather clearly, but I can't hear them- even if the volume is turned all the way up- which, by the way, is backward and awkward because the volume up button is on the bottom and the down button is on the top of the device. Finally, it is IMPOSSIBLE for the device to stay on my ear. It is uncomfortable because the part that fits in the ear canal is huge and the clip doesn't successfully stay on the top of my ear. This product may be good for someone who has never experienced a quality bluetooth, but I am pretty disappointed.

When I read other reviews that suggested this device would be uncomfortable for people with small ears, I thought, "I have normal to small ears. It shouldn't be a problem." Well, I was wrong. Not only did it not fit in my ear, the over-the-ear holder was designed for someone with really large ears (like really old guy ears that you notice are about 4-5 inches long). This product is designed for large ears only.

Cons: Can't someone come up with a headset that clips to your earlobe for better stability??



Although I find this headset pretty comfortable, I have yet to have it stay in my ear if I turn my head too quickly. I love the 3 different charging options, though. The sound is loud and clear. Although others have said you need to be no more than 10 feet from the phone, I've been as far as 20 with no problem.



The headset comes with a car charger, a USB charger for the computer, and a wall charger. It is well worth the money as it works atleast as well as my Motorola headset. It was easy to set up with my T-Mobile Dash.



I would give it 5 stars if it was designed to really stay in your ear. The piece that goeas around my ear is awkward and won't stay on with my sunglasses. My husband has a headset (not a bluetooth) that he loves because it has a little clip that goes no his lobe and keeps it in his ear.

While I was hesitant after reading the rather drab review of the DOA unit, I caved in and bought one from (probably) the same Amazon seller. Mine came, I tried to turn it on, and it seemed DOA as well. A quick 10 minute charge then enabled the LEDs to start functioning. Seems when shipped with a totally dead battery, no indicators will not work. Once that was out of the way, I charged it the full term (3 hours), and it paired with my LG enV first time out. Music sounds great. I still have to master answering phone calls while streaming music. Not sure if it's the headset or the phone, but it gets messy... Overall, does the job. For the price (sub $30 USD, plus shipping) it's a steal.

Although my experience with blue ant blue tooth gear has been very positive previously I was very disappointed with these headphones



the design of the battery on the headphones is such that it is incredibly easy to touch, knock or in a variety of ways dislodge the battery on them which of course turns them off and renders you blank faced before you are fumbling about on the floor looking for it



this is such a pain i gave up and purchased a competitors headphones for travelling around (rhyme's with Pony) and they live in the office



sorry don't buy them

Pros:

- Sound guality for headset is quite good on my Blackberry 8900

- Bluetooth range extends comfortably throughout a rather large home

- Headset hold a charge of @ 5 continuous hours



Cons:

_ The Audio Streamer would barely hold a charge. Sometimes it would not work even if taken immediately off the charger including checks to be sure that the battery contaacts on the streamer were clean, dust free & seated properly on the streamer. When it did work the sound quality with my IPod Classic contained so much static as to make it unlistenable after a few minutes.To ensure that it wasn't a bad battery, I switched the batteries between the headset & the streamer with no different results indicating a bad streamer. I contacted Blue Ant by phone, & followed their recommendations with no results. Following their instuctions I returned the steamer to Blue Ant and received back what appeared to be the same streamer & battery I sent them with the same results i.e. streamer dosen't hold charge. I've given up on the streamer & just use the headset.



If you just want the headset, see if you can buy it standalone. If you want an Audio Streamer this is not the product. Their rating would be even lower if the headset didn't work so well.

I've had these for years now, but I use a pair of $29 Sony's. The Blue Ant requires too many wires. The battery dies an hour before my shift is over, and takes hours and hours to charge. Then when recharged you get to start the complex (you'd better have your manual) process of synching all the gadgets. My cheap sony has one wire. This 'wireless' headphone has a USB, a broadcasting device, and the charging system, and weak batteries. Blah.

Very good bluetooth product. The headphones work well with two other bluetooth items on my HP HDX laptop. It will connect directly to the laptop, however to get stereo sound, you have to use the add-on piece that plugs into the headphone jack of the computer. The headphones aren't as comfortable as I'd like them to be. After about an hour and a half of wear, they become uncomfortable, even irritating. Takes a little getting used to. I probably would by this product again, but not at the price listed.

I love this product!

I did a lot of reseach before settling on this stereo-bluetooth/wireless-headset.

I have had it for about 1 month and have used it considerably. At work, I listen to my MP3 player (Samsung P2) for 5-6 hours a day. It is comfortable (as much as anything can be on your head for that long).

It connects very easily and holds the connect perfectly up to about 8-10 meters before begining to drop out. Setup was a breeze.

The blue tooth works perfectly with my AT&T Tilt phone. It puts the music on hold and answers everytime with no problem. Callers dont even know I am on a hands free device.

The stereo music is crisp and clear with great seperation.

I definitely would recommend this unit to anyone!

I bought this one for my wife when her Plantronics earpiece broke. After using the BlueAnt for a couple of weeks, she went back to the old one, sans the earpiece. Her main complaint was it didn't fit her ear properly, my main complaint was it sounded garbled, like she was talking from a drum. Another problem is the charging system. They tell you not over-charge it - remove it after the red light goes out, around two hours. Who has time to sit around and watch for the red light to go out? I want to plug it in overnight and be ready to go the next morning.



Another complaint about both units is the noise it makes from the slightest wind, including the air conditioning in the car. Does anyone make a unit that doesn't do this?

This is an unusable piece of equipment. Forget that I ordered it in black and delivered to my door was a toylike thing in candy apple red. The sound is terrible. The only good thing is that it connects quickly and is very responsive to voice commands but if the sound quality is so poor, what does it matter. Forget this piece of junk and spend a few more bucks for a usable Motorola or Jabra.
