 "Good entry-level Bluetooth headset" 2007-02-25
By kwill10 (Nashville, TN United States)
I use this headset with a Samsung a930 phone from Verizon, and I think it is a good value for the money (I got one for $25, which is comparable to a decent wired headset). This is my first Bluetooth device, so I can't compare it with some of the $75-100 noise-cancelling headsets. However, for an economical Bluetooth headset, it works well.

If the volume is turned up too high on the headset, the person on the other end complains of an echo. Also, used in a noisy enviroment, it would probably be a bit problematic to hear and be heard. However, I found that if I turn up the volume on my phone AND my headset to moderate levels, I can usually hear the other person (and vice versa) without an echo.

One quirk of this headset (maybe others too) is that turning it on and off requires holding the button for ~5 seconds. If your finger slips off of the button, it can end up activating voice dial or even dialing the last number that called. However, that is a minor annoyance on what has otherwise been a satisfactory purchase.

"Comfortable & Flexible Fit, Great Connectivity, Good Noise Rejection" 2007-02-08
By M. Hart (USA)
After getting tired of constantly fighting my Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset, I purchased a Jabra BT150 Bluetooth Headset to replace it and could not be more pleased! Unlike the inflexible Motorola H500, the Jabra BT150 is extremely flexible so that it can be positioned quite comfortably & snuggly against the ear. When I would wear the Motorola H500, my ear would begin to ache after about 30 minutes to an hour of continuous wear, but that is not the case with the Jabra BT150.

Another ongoing problem that I regularly experienced with the Motorola H500 was high noise susceptibility, but the Jabra BT150 is the opposite: it has great noise rejection. People that I'm talking to have no problem hearing what I have to say and I have little difficulty hearing them, unless I'm in a very noisy place to begin with.

The most annoying & regularly occurring problem with the Motorola H500 was its frequent loss of connection with my Motorola Razr cell phone even though the phone was typically no more than 2 to 3 feet away: well within the bounds of H500's signal range. To date, the Jabra BT150 has not lost its connection with the Motorola Razr and the signal quality is actually much better than the Motorola H500.

So, if you're thinking about getting a Bluetooth headset for use with the your cell phone or some other Bluetooth-capable device, I highly recommend that you consider purchasing a Jabra BT150 Bluetooth Headset, which I rate with 5 out of 5 stars. If you're going to get a Motorola Bluetooth headset, don't get the H500.

 "Terrible with Razr V3c" 2007-02-07
By Danny (NJ)
I am very technically inclined and received this head set as a gift. The first day I tried it out I thought it was pretty good. I use it in my car most of the time. By day 2 I was already seeing why it is so cheap.

Constantly loses signal with my verizon razr. So you have to restart the head unit and if that doesn't sync it with the phone again, then you have to restart the phone. Major pain to have to restart the phone while driving defeats the purpose of blue tooth imo.

It has a blinking blue light always on. Even when you are not in a call it blinks and blinks and you can't turn it off. You can't leave it showing in your car because it blinks so bright that it attracts attention.

Instructions timings are also incorrect. For example you have to firmly hold the power on button for a good 10-12 not 5 as the book says.

Sound quality is good inside my truck and in the house has maybe like 20 feet distance but only in open spaces.

Overall this is not for anyone who needs to seriously not worry about there bluetooth syncing on and off etc.

I purchased this from another store. But it worked perfectly. I could even talk across the room. And it was comfortable wearing it for hours. It could be worn on either ears and the hook could be molded to fit your ears' curvature. The only problem was that the hook broke overtime because of usage. The headset still works.

"Bought it for my PS3" 2008-06-29
By Matthew Powell (Kansas, USA)
This isn't a bad little headset.. I picked it up cheap for use with my PS3. It pairs up easily and the sound quality is as good as any other headset I've used.

If I had to do it over again, though, I doubt I would buy this model for gaming. There's no mute function, which isn't a must have, but it's very convenient for coughing or answering a phone call.

The biggest downside is the AAAA battery. AAAA's pricey little buggers, especially if you buy them in a retail store. Amazon sells a 6 pack for $6, that's the cheapest I've seen.

If you're looking for a PS3 headset, you might want to have a look at the soon to be released SOCOM headset, it looks to be ideal for gaming (as it should be).

I say this thing work ok not the best in the line of whats available its affordable, sleek, great for wearing on the go. hands free is great with this thing but, take a look at the voice reception device. its to far away from the mouth if your in a area where theres a hefty amount of noise volume try not to talk away from it cover your head set first before trying to use voice commands. other then these little problems its a great little device. oh yes the ringtone on the thing is interestingly anoying but it's good for telling you that your recieving a call.

"Works ok, user un-friendly design" 2008-08-03
By Robert Wightman (Santa Barbara, CA)
I agree with the previous comments about the size of the ear bud and the volume up/down. The ear bud is a little too large so it can make my ear sore after having it in there for awhile. I can live with it but why wouldn't they either give a choice of different sizes that people can adjust or thru some QA testing make sure the one size feels good to most people? If you're going to spend all that time designing a product, why not design it with comfort and functionality in mind, just like a previous reviewer said. So on the part of functionality, I agree it is hard to find the volume up and down buttons when it's on the head. They should have made them raised buttons, easy to distinguish from the on/off/accept button. Jabra didn't notice this from their QA testing? You have to wonder how they can be so clueless and what they're smoking wherever they are (New Hampshire or Illinois from what I've read). The wireless connection and reception are very decent and people say they can hear me better on this than my wired headset. The battery life, it lasts about two days without charging. I don't know if that's good or bad. The device information wasn't that great with the packaging. It gave a few basic tips on how to use it, but no specification data or any details about auto-shut off. I believe it does an auto-shut off if it hasn't been used for awhile, since the blue light stops blinking. However I'm not sure of that so it would be really nice if Jabra could have said something in their instructions. No way, that would be TOO helpful!!!! Guess I'll keep this for now. Did they skimp on "fit and funtionality" as this is one of the lowest priced models available? It's hard to believe but maybe not such a stretch.

"A very poor representative for Jabra!" 2008-07-28
By Kevin R. Mahanna (Hickory, NC)
I too received the Jabra Bluetooth headset with my new Verizon cell-phone. I've not even looked to see how much I paid for it, but if it were free AND included a $25 rebate, it would still be too much.

PRO's - The headset itself is small and barely noticable. I don't like the idea of walking around in public with a Bluetooth stuck in my ear, but if you have to do it, for inconspicuous, this would be a good choice.

- The ear hook easily changes from one ear to the other by merely popping it off and flipping it over; a two second change at most. Very nice, since I must have it on the left ear only.

CON's - The earpiece is very large. There are no replacements for them and you are stuck with what you get. When I got my iPod, the earbuds that came with it hurt my ears badly and I had to replace them. This earpiece is at least as large as those.

- About two-thirds of the conversations I had using this device went badly. I had to repeat myself over, and over, and finally I had to YELL! So much for being inconspicuous. Then I would ultimately have to tell them to wait while I disconnected the Bluetooth so I could finish the conversation.

- The other party had the same problem...What?, What?, I can't hear you!

- I almost had to hold the cell-phone in front of the device to get any reception at all. If I were to lay the phone down and walk more than six (unobstructed) feet away, forget about it. I would have to run back to the phone quickly so the other party wouldn't hang up thinking that I had been disconnected. The same if it were in my pocket or belt case.

- Out-of-doors, I had no luck at all. I am not sure if it was outide interferance, the wind, or both, but I had to terminate the call and return it later. Fortunately all of the calls I made using this device were personal. I cringe at the thought anyone would try to use this while making a business call.

When assessing the usefullness or value of any product, you must evaluate at least two major elements: Fit and function. This product fulfilled niether of these. It fit in my ear poorly, and it just plain didn't meet any definition of functional.

This product is a very poor specimen to represent Jabra. Not having any previous experience with other Jabra products; I still would never buy another. My recommendation is to pull this off the market before it ruins completely the Jabra name.

 "really horrible" 2008-07-23
By J. Morrow
This came in a package when I got my phone from Verizon, and it's not even worth the deal we got on the package. First of all, no one can hear me. I cannot have a conversation on it without repeating myself. Secondly, it won't stay in my ear. If I leave the ear hook on, it gets tangled up in my hair and glasses, and if I take it off, the headset slides out of my ear, forcing me to hold it in, which defeats the purpose of a "hands-free device." Additionally, the buttons aren't as functional as I'd hope: the volume buttons are useless, and the magic answer/hang-up/activate-voice-commands/make-bluetooth-connection button won't hang up a call. Tapping it does nothing and holding it down severs the bluetooth connection, leaving the call intact on my phone. This product is a waste of plastic and energy, and it is going to be returned.

"Horrible - save your money" 2008-06-24
By R. Puskas (Pa)
After having the Jabra BT350 for several years and being happy, I looked right back at Jabra when the 350 started getting buzzy. The 185 was a huge disappointment. The call quality was decent, but those volume switches are impossible to use when it's in your ear. This is a vert poorly designed unit.

I returned it and go a Plantronics Voyager 520, and so far very happy with it. Read reviews of the Plantronics and consider that.

 "Great Stereo Bluetooth Headset...BUT..." 2007-07-22
By Robert W. Strotman (Lake Forest, CA)
This great little device is perfect for anyone with a stereo-capable Bluetooth phone. Out of the box and after a charge, it synced up very easily with my Samsung a900 "Blade" cellphone. I am able to listen to my iPod by connecting the audio plug directly into the iPod and when a call comes in, the sound is muted (though it would be more ideal if it could pause the music) and when I am finished with the call, the sound returns.

The main benefit for me is that with the stereo earbuds, the sound of the person to whom you're speaking is directly in the center of your head. I never have to say "WHAT?" or "Sorry, I didn't catch that". Of course, you cannot legally use both earbuds at the same time while driving, one earbud does function quite well. The other main benefit of this device is the longevity of the battery. I talk a LOT on the phone and I have rarely had this phone die out on me. I have been able to talk for hours on end, though I do charge it up fairly regularly at night while I sleep. It comes with a charger with a mini-usb connector that slides into a hideaway slot in the side of the unit.

The main disadvantages of this unit are somewhat important. The device is well made and has rubberized sides which are handy. However, the unit has a clip on the backside which is fairly close to useless. It can be attached to your clothing, but it is not very secure. The best bet is to use a small lanyard with a clip attached to the end to more properly secure the unit on your person. This lanyard and clip, however, are not included. (I use a clip that came with my pedometer!) Also negatively, when not in use, the earbuds do dangle about...one can replace the earbuds with earbuds of your choice, but it would be nice to have a way to wrangle those long cords (I use a small white twist tie) :).

Another small partial negative is that the mic is on the oval unit itself...There is a pinhole in the rubberized side surface that houses the mic as the dangling device is on your chest, proper placement is essential for people to hear you well, though even with a lot of ambient noise, the mic does a remarkable job of picking up your voice...I've tested it standing in front of a fan and the other person said the fan was loud but that they could still hear me! So it is a partial negative/partial positive.

One major issue is the big button visible on the center of the oval unit itself. You use this button to answer calls and hold it longer for call waiting and so forth, however if you are in a call and you inadvertently *BUMP* this button (it's an easy click) then you disconnect from the call immediately. So be careful when using this device and try hard not to hit that button when you don't need to!

And finally, at least with my Samsung a900, the bluetooth is erratic. It could easily be my phone (I have just had 2 firmware updates performed on it) but my phone will occasionally just lose the connection to the device and I have to restart my phone. I might think this was just my phone, and it possibly is, but my jawbone bluetooth headset does not have this problem. So I am not sure.

All in all, this is a great product that would be greater with some sort of cable wrangler attachment and a shield for the button...I'd have given this product a 5. Still it's a great bluetooth headset, I only wish I could use the stereo capabilities of the headset when listening to music on my Samsung a900...THAT requires an actual cabled audio connection :( Ah well, we can't have it all...yet!

"Great Concept But Fails To Deliver" 2007-02-26
By Dylan's Mom & Dad (Truckee, CA USA)
I've gone through my second Jabra BT325 in less than 6 weeks. When they work, they work pretty well. But I think that I am going to give up on these and try to find something else.

My goal was to find something that I could use my own headphones while running/cycling, and use them to hear a call come in from my cell phone and answer the call without stopping to touch my MP3 player and cell phone. I thought the Jabra BT325 was the perfect solution. The concept is a good one. The device is no bigger than your car's keyless remote and clips onto a shirt or jacket. Pairing with my phone took less than a minute. Sound quality was very good when listening to my MP3 player. When a call comes in, the music fades and I can tap the device to receive the call. Works great when running or on the bike. The built-in microphone could be better with blocking out wind noise but it does a decent job. The real problem has been with the unit powering on and holding a charge. Both units that I've received have decided to stop responding after one or a couple charges. I've tried pushing/holding every button to somehow reset it but nothing has worked. Amazon has decided to refund my purchase but I'm disappointed that this product did not live up to its potential.

 "great concept, horrible execution" 2007-01-02
By B. Stalcup (Concord, NC United States)
the concept is great:

if you have an mp3 player of any sort (iPod or other), you have to have a headphone cord running from the player to your head anyway. why not just add a bluetooth headset in the middle of the line and multi-purpose the earphones already in your ears. instantly add stereo to your phone calls and get decent integration with your audio player (the BT325s will mute your player during a call, though it won't pause it, then automatically switches back to the audio when a call ends).

advantages over bluetooth earphones: you still get good audio fidelity, you only use the headset batteries when you are on a call, you don't have to have a bluetooth adapter for your mp3 player, just use the standard audio out. the Jabra BT620s, for example, requires an adapter for use with an iPod; the iPod won't fit in most standard protective cases with the adapter attached.

advantages over just using regular headphones for music and a regular bluetooth headset: you don't have to take the headphones off to take a call with the bluetooth headset.

so again, great concept. moving on to execution in the BT325s. after three months of use:

1. horrible microphone. even when i hold it right in front of my mouth, i get reports of sounding muffled, cutting in and out, etc. please improve the microphone.

2. only one microphone. depending on how you are wearing it, the microphone ends up on the underside, away from your voice, covered in clothing, etc. there ought to be two microphones, on opposite sides.

3. absolutely worthless clip. the engineers of this product obviously didn't test drive it. due to the microphone placement and clip design, the only way to wear it is with a button-front or zip-front shirt/jacket. to run the cord inside your shirt/jacket, you have to have it untucked, the cord is too short otherwise. the clip bends easily and gets loose, then it can't be bent back. it doesn't rotate, so you can't optimize placement. need a durable, spring-loaded clamp-type clip with rotation. the rotation mechanism should have notches preventing inadvertent rotation once it has been set.

4. better integration. there really should be a way to not just mute, but pause the mp3 player when a call is placed or received. but this is just gravy. if 1-3 were resolved, i would use this and recommend to everybody i know. as it is, it is going on the shelf.

sad to say, i have to call this a waste of money. i really, really wanted it to work.

Works just fine with my iPod and cell phone via bluetooth. It would have been better to integratethe microphone in the earphone cables so that the controller can be attached to your belt. It's awkward to attach the integrated mic and controller anywhere on your body where the mic is effective.

 "Very Nice" 2009-09-16
By Kate Mcallister
I like this headset quite a bit, its very comfortable. I have several ear piercings and its even comfortable with them. I have relatively small ears and the sound piece is super comfortable, it doesn't leave my ear hurting after extended uses. I drive a soft top vehicle, so I have a lot of wind interferance with my headsets, and this one seems to block out the most.

The volume is a little low, but overall I would deffinately buy it again.

"Love Jabra, but not this one" 2009-07-31
By D. Le Bron (Round Rock, TX)
I love the Jabra products. They are very comfortable and forget sometimes that I even have it on. But this is the lower quality of the Jabra line. Many people complained that they can not hear me or that there is too much background noise. Don't buy the BT2020 - go BT250 or BT500 series, I've tried both of those with success.

 "Pros and Cons" 2009-06-17
By April Asbury
Product was VERY comfotable!! Just about all bluetooths are extremely uncomfortable, they do not fit in my ear at all, I have this issues with bluetooths as well as earphones and so I always look for something that's slim enough to fit comfortably in my ear without falling out or causing my ear to be sore. The bluetooth solves both problems, the behind the ear options holds the bluetooth into place and the gel piece is small enough to fit in my ear and is very comfortable. the downfall is the connection time is very slow compared to other bluetooths, I turn on the piece and there is a delay in getting it connected, the volume is very low in comparison to other bluetooths as well, its hard to use it if the environment isnt close to quiet, it feels a lil flimsy and it broke when i dropped it once. I would probably buy a similar product because it is extremely comfortable but not this exact one.

 "Outstanding" 2009-04-17

The Jabra BT2020 bluetooth over-the-ear piece was a replacement for one that I lost. Delivery was prompt and the devise has performed flawlessly. This Jabra is not only the most comfortable that I have worn but also it provides the clearest reception and transmission of all of the bluetooth devises that I have tried.

 "I've had better" 2009-03-29
By Keith Hawkins
I purchased the JABRA BT2020 Headset (over-the-ear) and the only good thing that I can say about it is that it fits very comfortably over the ear but the sound quality is awful. Would not recommened this product unless you like for people to repeat themselves when talking with them.
