I have been researching BT headsets for motorcycle use for a while, and eventually came across some positive reviews of this unit. I was somewhat skeptical as the price is at least half that of comparable units, but I took a chance and ordered. I am VERY pleasantly surprised!! It came next day (no expedited shipping requested) from GoodDeals18, and I ordered in the afternoon. Very impressive.



The installation was super easy, sound quality is great, they have weathered a couple of storms with no ill effects, and are pretty easy to use. I deducted one star only because both of my units will intermittently fail to turn on after they have been switched off. I originally got around this by plugging into the charger, but have since realized that I can push the reset button for a sec, then power on as normal. You do have to hold the button down for a looong time to turn them on and off, but other than those two minor gripes, I couldn't be happier. All in all a very pleasant surprise!

Smaller than I had expected, but buttons work fine with bike gloves on. Cell phone (iPhone) connection is clear at both ends of the call. Mike boom is is 6 inches long but works fine on my (XL) full face helmet. Definite plus is the mini USB charging. Comes with euro style round two prong USB wall charger, but no worries it's cheap to get US version or plug adapter; I think best to use a cheap powered USB hub as charge point for both the units. Audio is fine for phone and bearable for music. Note have not tried the A2DP bluetooth music yet (waiting for the iPhone 3.0 update!) (I tried the music by plugging head cable direct to music player.) Better price than other pairs out there, and pretty solidly built. Note that I think in the manual they have the buttons labeled wrong way round in the picture - triangle button is phone/play, the other (helmet pic) button is power /interphone.



If the btbiker web site is to be believed the profits go to a kids charity. Bought through from Gooddeals18 through Amazon and it arrived in about a day!



Update: Went on long ride yesterday with this unit fitted and in frequent use - including highway - excellent reception and battery lasted fine, even though out for over 4 hours. Got caught riding in serious thunderstorm downpours for a couple of hours, yet the device held up no problem, so clearly it is VERY weatherproof. At highway speeds, some wind noise from where unit attaches to helmet - but certainly acceptable and maybe could be reduced by repositioning. Would re-rated this thing to 5 stars if I could.

This product was shipped to me in "frustration free packaging" It was shipped without a base charger and 3 of the earbuds. It was all scratched up and appeared to be used for quite some time. This packaging enables Amazon to use returned items and hide them as new. This surprises me that amazon would do this as I have never had a problem with them before. I will not do frustration free packaging again.

This would have been a great item, if it had arrived with all items included in the product description. Instead, it arrived re-packaged by Amazon in the new "Frustration-Fee packaging." I believe this is done to allow Amazon to buy in bulk - it also results in allowing them to repackage returned items and sell as if new. In reading the item description, and the instruction booklet that came with the headset, I quickly realized that the protective seal was missing on the microphone (i.e. removed by someone else who probably bought it originally), and two key components were missing - the desktop charger, and the assorted pack of different size earbuds. The "Frustration-Fee" packaging means that you receive a generic brown box that has had the item and whatever other components you're fortunate enough to receive, sealed by Amazon. Unfortunately it was NOT sealed by the manufacturer, and the item can be used or missing parts, like this order. It's really not that hard to cut into the plastic packaging that comes with an original Motorola headset - and by getting it in the original packaging, you are assured that everything is intact. This new packaging is just a con, and I will make sure that any future orders I place do not offer this packaging option.

I purchased a different Bluetooth at my local Verizon store. It was much larger and very uncomfortable in the ear (I have small ears). The sales person also convinced me that the over-ear "hook" attached to that model was necessary to keep it in place. It was VERY annoying with sunglasses and just didn't feel right. I returned it and ordered this one from Amazon. It fits my ear very comfortably - sometimes I forget I'm wearing it - and very securely - I have not seen any need for the "hook" (which can be purchased separately if you prefer one).

I reviewed this product before but I must add something I've found out after months of use.



This thing is great in the wind!



I've reviewed maybe 9 other bluetooth headsets on Amazon but none of them can do this. I can bicycle downhill at top speed and hold a normal conversation while the listener can't even tell that I'm moving!



The trick is that I have to turn my head just slightly to the side. Not much at all, maybe 1 inch off center but I've never seen another unit that can deal with the high wind at that speed.



I think it's because it has such a small opening for the sound from my voice that once it's turned just a bit, the wind goes right by and the listener can't even tell. I've tested it down hill multiple times and use it whenever I bicycle.



The only downside is that in a quiet room, it's not as perfectly clear as some of the other ones, but hey. I can't beat it in the wind. I keep two different headsets now, one for normal use and this one for bicycling or windy days outside. See my other reviews if you want a comparison of other brands.

I bought this after I bought a cheapy from Big Lots that sounded awful and people on the other end couldn't hear me. This Razr H3, however, is perfect. I don't know if it's because I use it on my Razr phone, but there is no echo or any problems at all. It charged, connected, and matched right up. I love the way it resembles my Razr phone. I have no discomfort after long periods of use. For the price, you cannot beat it.

Out of the box mine had one of the buttons dead. No click. Nothing. When I returned it for exchange, the saleperson said that's typical of this headset, and only from Motorola. Cellphones good, H3 headset junk.



In fact he said that they (Cellular Sales - a Verizon dealer store) were dropping the Motorola H3 because of the exceedingly high number of returns and were sticking with just the Plantronics - which I then had him exchange my shoddy H3 with.



So mine out of the box essentially DOA with a major dealer dropping them because of this.

I purchased this headset to be used with my Linksys SPA941/SPA942 IP phones with Vocalocity VoIP service. I wanted to be able to talk on the phone while using a computer or walking around. This headset does this. No problems with the sound quality. The handset lifter works just fine. The only complaint I can think of is the advertised 300 foot range is wrong for me. It cuts out for me at about 100 feet. But I would still highly recommend this product.

I purchased this set to work with a Polycom IP501 phone. The quality of the calls are excellent, and setup was straight-forward. Two annoyances that I observed are first that the handset lifter does not handle the extreme angle of this phone well at all. The workaround for me was to glue rubberbands to the handset in the right places, so the phone did not slide off the lifter each time it answered. After trying various things, a simple wide rubber band cut to fit had the right amount of grip without being too wide. Problem one solved. Problem #2 is that when I use the speaker phone, the headset rings as it responds to the speaker. Plantronic's website indicates the solution is to unplug the headset. This is an unacceptable solution to me, and they really need to address this (cutoff switch on the mic would be simple I'd think). Still, 4 stars overall despite these issues, because everything else is working with excellent quality.

I got this headset in February of 2008 when I started at my new IT job. I've used it everyday since (excluding weekends) and it hasn't broken or given me a moment of trouble. The range is very good, I can pace around outside my office building without losing reception, and the handset lifter (a must!) works fabulously with my Aastra phone. If you need to be on the phone while typing and/or pacing, this headset is fabulous.

I've been using this headset at work for the last year and a half and absolutely love it! The sound quality is supurb, the weight is light, and the range is decent (up to 100 feet or so with thin office walls and cubicles in between).

I just ordered another for my wife (who works from home) who will need to answer the phone from throughout the house once our first baby arrives. She's already tested it in every room of the house (2-story), and the back yard as well without the slightest loss of signal (base unit in loft in middle of house).

I believe the sticker price for this was far more than I expected, but thanks to Amazon I was able to spend $150 less than my work did for mine!

Excellent....
