 "Great!" 2009-07-17
By W. Zhou (LA, CA US)
The iPhone is undoubtedly the most talked about gadget of the year, with its innovative touch-screen design and attractive good looks. To match the iPhone's high-end style, Apple has also introduced the Apple iPhone Bluetooth headset to go along with it. And it certainly does match the iPhone, in elegance, simplicity, and style. But like the iPhone itself, it falls short in features. Each iPhone Bluetooth headset goes for $199.99, a rather steep price.

Shaped like a skinny black stick, the iPhone Bluetooth headset measures close to 2 inches long, 0.5 inch wide, and about 0.6 inch thick if you count the earpiece (It's about 0.125 inch thick without the earpiece). The headset is also remarkably light at less than an ounce, and we admit that we quite like its metal construction, glossy finish, and smooth, clean lines. Certainly, it looks more like art than a simple headset.

The controls are dead simple--in fact, there's only one button for everything. It's not obvious at first, but the multifunction button is located on top of the device. The button has a slightly curved feel and gives easily to pressure. On the back of the headset is the earpiece, which is designed to fit inside the ear, much like the old-school iPod earbuds. It fits very nicely in the ear and we found it to be quite comfortable. However, the lack of an ear hook may make some people feel uneasy since it doesn't feel as secure. Also, we really would've liked to have volume controls on the headset itself. If you need to adjust the volume, you'll have to change it with your phone.

 "didn't last 3 months" 2009-05-12

I was excited about the sleek small design, and it was made by Apple- so I thought I had finally found the bluetooth of my dreams- and was willing to pay more- BUT.....

It has just plain worn out- the crackling noise has become unbearable after only three months--and I did notice early on that I couldn't stray more than 10 feet (or less!) from my phone or I would lose reception..

 "Pretty good for me" 2009-03-09
By Surya (Sunny Isles, FL)
This is my first Bluetooth device and it's been a pleasure to use. Although sometimes it can be a bit hard to hear someone on the other line on full volume, it beats looking like a space cadet from the Enterprise which is what you'll get with the other brands. I make sure to charge it every day and the battery life is fine for my personal amount of usage. Very comfortable and light-weight. I love the easy syncing with the iPhone and how it shows the battery meter while charging and using the iPhone (although it might not be very accurate). I'm not sure if it's the best headset for the price but it definitely works for me.

 "Nice Looking Junk" 2009-01-31
By reluctant critic (Los Angeles, CA)
If this was meant for a design competition and didn't actually have to be used, I might give it 4 stars. The charging cable is nice and it's good that it shows its charge on the iPhone. But as far as using it for a telephone call - it stinks.

In the car I can barely hear a call at high volume. I have to shout so people can hear me. And I often have to turn it on and off several times (even at full charge) before it hooks up with the iPhone.

I just bought the Plantronics Voyager 510 which allows me to actually make calls.

"can live through the wash" 2009-01-30
By E. Vanderbilt (Houston, TX)
my bluetooth headset just went through a wash and dryer cycle, and still works! Besides that, it is easy to pair with your iphone, easy to answer a call with, and quick to charge. A must have if you have an iphone.
