 "Perfect and easy" 2009-08-27
By Stephen Inglish (Tallahassee, FL United States)
After opening the packaging, and charging it for 2 minutes, this headset immediately paired with my iPhone 3Gs, and my PS3. It is super light and looks sleek.

I accidentally left the phone on bluetooth mode and was playing with the headset when I heard from the other room (and through a wall) the phone start placing calls to friends. Awesome range.

I am extremely happy with it.

 "Beware - Defective Merchandise" 2009-08-06
By Ken Valz
I purchased this product from Amazon in August, 2009. It arrived with a photo copied manual. The device didn't work because it was lacking a battery. I sent it back for a second one. The second device arrived but would not "pair". Motorola advised me that Amazon is not a licensed dealer and that the second device was also defective.

Both devices were made in China. Both devices were sold as "new" but came without Motorola packaging and with a photocopied instruction sheet.

The product may be similar to the fake watches sold on the streets of NYC.

 "Works OK mostly" 2009-07-27
By Stuart Dole (Santa Rosa, CA United States)
I know it's a little late to write a review of this headset, so late in its product life cycle, but here goes.

+ Mostly it works fine. It's reasonably small, sound quality is OK usually, and it's convenient.

- It has power management and battery problems - I've tried two H700's (both from an AT&T store). Paired with a Motorola Razr V3 "plain".

When it's freshly charged it has a pretty good talk time - at least a couple of hours. The battery runs down rapidly even when "off" (boom closed) - almost as fast as when you're using it. So you need to charge it up every day - just one more thing to remember. But it charges fast! Once it's down a little it will still connect with the phone, (blue lights flash and the phone icon says it's connected) but it won't answer or initiate a call.

Range is excellent - better than most people report - I have no trouble wandering around the house and talking with the phone on my desk. (On the other hand, AT&T's coverage has been deteriorating badly, so it's not much help!)

Volume needs to be reset every time it's turned on or recharged - the default is too low for me - I need it set to max or one stop shy of max.

The "no signal" beep that the phone sends to the headset (every 5-15 seconds) is a bother - it's nice information to know, I suppose, but I drive the same mountain road every time I work, and I already know there's no coverage there. Or in the depths of a steel-clad grocery store. So I just don't wear the headset when I drive my usual road.

It will connect quickly and pick up a handset call, so I can switch to headset easily when driving and I get a call, but the distraction of messing with the headset to do that sort of negates the safety of "hands free" driving!

It's confused about switching back to handset - closing the boom to turn the headset off gets you a dialog on the phone that incorrectly says "Bluetooth signal weak - switch to phone?" - like dude, just do it and don't ask me!

I'm going to try some other headsets... happy trails!

"good features but poor ear design and microphone" 2009-07-12
By kreisleriana16 (Minneapolis, MN USA)
The headpiece offered excellent and clear service as far as features were concerned. I liked the tones in the earpiece indicating various functions including connecting to my Blackberry. The bad side was the earpiece ear loop which was always loose and gave the impression at times that the unit would fall off my ear. The final problem was when the microphone slowly died until the unit was useless. This was also the second unit that failed on me. I would not recommend considering this unit. Shop for something else.

 "Very Good" 2009-07-12

I hesitated before buying this for my wife. However, it seems to work just as good as the one I got when I bought my phone, and cost twice as much.
