"GREAT SOUND QUALITY, BUT CUTS OUT TO MUCH." 2009-08-18
By W. Cruse (Chillicothe, OH)
These headphones sound great, but I am continually having a problem with them cutting out when I have my ipod in my side pocket or strapped to my arm while jogging.

 "sounds bad" 2009-07-30
By R. Hounsell
well, I'll start with the pros first.

To start off, I was very happy to find that i could pair both my Ipod and the head set to my PS3.

Basically, it comes with 2 bluetooth devices. the head set and the adapter for the Ipod.

I mainly use these when I'm at work, so i can listen to my music and still talk on the phone.

The battery usage isn't bad. My Ipod is a few years old, so the battery is weak anyway. Even so, I can have it playing for most of the day and not see the Ipod die. (but come close)

The only thing i don't like is the sound quality. It sounds like theres a lot of static or interfearance, almost as if the speakers are broken. The high pitch tone from the static really hurts my ears after only a few minutes.

Now I do listen to the most ironic selection of music around. (Orchestra and Rock n' roll)

The interfearance isn't bad for some of the songs I listen to, but it is for some of the main stream music I like.

My original review was going to be for 3 star. But then I found out that this is more of a set, rather then a pair of wireless headphones.

5 Stars for the versatility

3 Stars for the sound quality

 "wireless listening" 2009-07-29
By Bette A. Maron (Napa, CA)
I just got the headphones and used them today for the first time. I'm small, so the head band is slightly large for me, sticking out behind my head. Also, I thought I could use it with my iPod in my pocket, but it worked like my pedometer -- as I walked, it switched songs every few bars, until I took it out of my pocket and just held it. Also, the little transmitter would be so easy to misplace when not in use, so I sewed myself a bag for keeping the charger, the headphone and the transmitter together, safe, and easy to find when I want to use them. I finally put the iPod in my arm band holder and loved being able to walk to a beat and work around the yard without wires getting in the way.

 "Really nice headset" 2009-07-20
By Bearwife (Seattle, WA USA)
These just arrived and I'm pretty happy. They have better sound and comfort than my Motorokr headphones, and I suspect they will be a lot more reliable. I use my wireless headphones to run/jog, and have to say the Motorokrs are a terrible option -- my current set suddenly refused to charge any more, and when I say "current set," they are at least the 4th pair I've owned. That's how fast Motorokr's break -- if they work at all. I have faith that Sony did a better job on durability. These also paired in a snap and controls are very easy to work. My only two complaints are that Sony doesn't seem to have any case for these folding headphones (and I can't figure out which Case Logic case an earlier reviewer was referring to), and that they could be more comfortable if they were adjustable.

"Still going strong after 6 months" 2009-07-17
By Steven Whatley (TX USA)
Well, it has been six months since I bought this headset and transmitter pair. This is the first head set to last me more than five months and I use them for 2 to 10 hours per day every day. I'm really bad on headphone cords no matter how careful I try to be. Hence the reason to go bluetooth. My biggest concern has been the folding hinge at back of the headset. After 6 months, I have had no issues with the hinge. Also, the buttons on the right side have held up very well especially the toggle switch behind the right ear. I figured that would be the first button/switch to go bad.

The headset lays comfortably against the back of my neck even when sitting in a high back recliner/chair. Also, the hinge has not yet caught and pulled any hair on the back of my head. However, the headset may occasionally catch or bump against the back of a stiff collared shirt.

Audio-wise, the headset sounds great with plenty of volume if needed. It can be heard in very noisy environments yet I can still hear what is going on around me. For me, this is good. However, It would be nice to have a optional noise canceling mode for the times I want it like when on an airplane.

As for as batter life on the headset is great. It only ran out of juice once in its six months of use.

The BT transmitter works great with my iPod Classic. Pause/play as well as next/previous functions work great. If I continue to press the next/previous toggle, the iPod fast forwards and reverses the audio which is great for audiobooks. The transmitter draws its power from the device it is connected to. Also, it is so small that the iPod still fits will in the iPod pocket my pants have.

Using the BT transmitter on an iPhone is more complicated but it works. Prior to iPhone OS 3.0, the headset only work with the iPhone's BT only for phone calls. The transmitter worked only while the iPod app was running. Since the iPhone OS 3.0 update the BT transmitter works with any app audio except the Phone app but you have to activate the transmitter by starting to play something using the iPod app. You can the stop the iPod track, exit the iPod app, and then launch other apps. The transmitter will continue to transmit the app.

A couple of notes comparing using the iPhone's built-in BT vs the Sony BT transmitter dongle. First there is hardly a noticeable audio using the Sony BT dongle compared to the very noticeable built-in BT audio delay when playing games or videos. Also, the iPhone tends to have very weak WiFi reception with its built-in BT turned on. I get good normal WiFi reception when using the Sony BT dongle. Edge and 3G cellular reception is the same using either BT mode.

Here is one nice trick that the headset and transmitter combo can do. I can use this headset with my iPod Classic via the BT transmitter dongle and with phone calls on the iPhone. If I'm listening to the iPod, the headset would start ringing if I get an incoming call on the iPhone, the headset will automatically switch to the iPhone. After the call, the headset will automagically switch back to the iPod Classic and resume playing.

Overall, this is a great BT headset and transmitter combo. I hope to keep using using it for another six months or longer.
