 "Pretty disappointing." 2009-08-19
By M. Nolan (Chicago, IL United States)
Bought these from a big box retailer knowing I could return them easily if they didn't work out. They haven't, so I intend to return them soon.

Pros: They look ok and the controls are pretty decent. Seemingly excellent battery life.

Cons: Main issue above and beyond all others is that they do not fit. I am a fat slob and these things are big on me. That's never, ever been an issue. They fall off my head and never feel comfortable. After that the next issue would be the sound. Bass is pretty low, or bass is average but the treble is high. Adjusting the basic EQ functions on my Blackberry didn't help at all. Second issue would be the Bluetooth connection. It seems spotty. I'd say 3 or 4 times per session the connection hiccups for a second or two.

I haven't tried any other models yet but I'm leaning towards trying the Motorola set. Either way these Sony's are going back.

"Not bad...not bad at all" 2009-07-25
By E. Austin (KCMO)
While audiophiles will naturally shun this product and anything less than perfection, this headset is quite decent for the masses. Of course, an open-ear design will mean less bass response, but they handle the lows better than average.

Pairing was easy to my G1, but my PC was more finicky - not the headset's fault at all.

Range was surprising, but again half of this equation has nothing to do with the headset, rather the device it's being connected to and the amount of interference in the airwaves.

Overall, for the average masses, this headset will more than please. If you have strict tastes, then you won't be buying this anyway.

 "waste of money" 2009-07-18
By Kachadurian (Traverse City, MI)
The DRBT101 loks good on paper but save yourself some money and don't buy it.

First off, it comes in one of those plastic packs you have to cut and destroy to get the product out, so you can never return it.

Once you do get it out of the pack the problems begin. First off, I don't think these will fit anyone. I wear a size 7-1/2 hat and they are too big for my head. On my wife with a smaller head they just fall right off. So even if they were perfect in every way, what's the point if you can wear them.

Second, they sound okay , but not great. I get much better sound from my cheap sennheiser PX100s.

Lastly, the bluetooth can't hold a connection. They work for about 20 minutes and then the connection goes in and out which makes both listening to music and talking on the phone impossible. The only way to reestablish a good connection is to turn off the headphones and then turn them back on, and then you are only connected for about 20 more minutes.

If you feel the need to buy these take a $50 bill outside and light it on fire instead. You'll enjoy that more.

"Many Flaws make this a horrible value." 2009-07-12
By Cheryl Levy (Long Island, NY)
This headset at first appeared to be worth the price tag, but I was sadly wrong.

Cons: They are overpriced, not easily shaped for a normal head, and not as good as you might expect from sony. Not only that, but they do not include a USB charger for the $50. Battery life is no where near what is specified.

Pros: iPod Touch 2G compatible.

Overall: These headphones are Overpriced, Over-rated, and no where near worth the $50 Price tag. I truthfully wish I could return them for my money back. Do NOT buy this headset! Spend a little more and get a Jabra Headset, or a higher-class Sony.

"Better than I expected from Sony" 2009-07-01
By H. Crosland (Maryland)
For starters, it's very rare that I can endorse any Sony products especially the headphones. Sony has always disappointed me in sound quality but now that the iPhone has bluetooth audio capability, I decided to give these a try.

For starters, I did an aftermarket mod by simply swapping out the ear cups from another set of headphones that i have that i am not using with some that are more durable and more padded and unbelievably the sound quality got better. My music has more bass and my movies sound less tinny.

Pros:

- easy to pair with iPhone

- easy to use controls

- long lasting

- phone quality is fine

Con

- No noise canceling hardware

- headband is not as adjustable as it could be
