 "Truely sweatproof" 2009-08-19
By Joseph G. Sanchez (Grand Rapids,Michigan,USA)
Finally a bluetooth headset that I can use for my workouts!!! I've only had them for about a month but they have made it through several 1 to 2 hour long bike rides.I've sweat buckets into these things and they are holding up great!!! At first I did not like the under sensitivity of the buttons, but now I like it(no accidental skipping to the next track or other functions). There are three reasons why I did not rate these at 5 stars. One,the ear gels that came with the headset did not make that great of a seal.I had to buy Accustibuds custom ear gels to get the in ear seal that I wanted. Two,can not activate voice dialing from the headset. You have to get the phone out and dial,BUMMER.Three,I would like these to have a little longer battery life. They last about five and a half hours music time, which is not to bad,but I like to use these for more than just workouts. In closing, these are worth every penny if you need a truly sweatproof headset, maybe not so much if you only want a low profile stereo bluetooth headset.

"Excellent for the active individual" 2009-08-19
By TechGuy-San Diego (San Diego, CA)
These headphones deliver amazing performance. I've had them for a few days now and they have passed all the everyday tests.

- Driving in my car - My wife says the call quality is the same as when I'm just using the handset all by itself. So, no noise cancellation but hey, I didn't buy them for that.

- Working out in the gym - Bench pressing, Shoulder Press, Sit-Ups, Pull-Ups, etc. All exercises and the plugs stay nicely in place without tweaking. Oh the freedom from wires cannot be explained! :-)

- I listen to everything from Reggae to Hard Rock and feel the sound quality is good. (Bear in mind I'm not an audiophile by any stretch but I know what sounds good and I don't feel I'm missing anything. Others have posted lack of bass response but I think they jam. I used to have big speakers in my car when I was a teenager. Ha!)

- I will be honest, I did mow the yard with my 5hp b&g lawn mower and the music was being overpowered by the engine of the mower. Pretty severe test thought, right?

I'll be telling everyone about these headphones 'cause they are the bee's knees. BTW - I'm using them with my BB Curve 8320 - All the best to you all.

P.S. - I didn't give these 5 Stars simply because I wish the technology was such that we all could take advantage of stereo bluetooth coupled with the range normally associated with bluetooth devices. If you're outside, the range for these is about 3-4 feet line of sight. Inside, you can leave your player on the kitchen table and enjoy music while you do the dishes ~ 15 feet.

"Jaybird JB-200 Stereo Bluetooth Headphones" 2009-08-18
By R. P. Tetzloff (Plymouth, WI United States)
I've been looking for a bluetooth stereo headset for use with my iPhone 3G for awhile now (since they started supporting A2DP in OS 3.0). Having looked at several options, including the Sennheiser MM-200, and a couple different sets from Sony, I decided on the JayBird JB-200, primarily because of how I wanted to use it during workouts, running, walking, etc.

This headset is advertised as water and sweat resistant, which is something that the others I looked at did not offer. While I had initially wanted to find something that offered spectacular sound, little excess wiring, and support for phone functionality, I learned that this probably wasn't going to be an option, especially considering that I would be using whatever I purchased in sweaty conditions.

So, after a bit of research bringing me to this conclusion, I decided to go ahead and try the JayBird JB-200 headphones. Having not owned them long, I would like to point out that this is based on my initial impressions in using them, rather than extended use.

Stereo Headphones: I'm not an audiophile by any means, but I do appreciate good quality sound. These headphones far exceed the sound produced by the stock headphones that came with the iPhone 3G. As far as comparison to other headphones or earbuds, I can't say, as I'm not experienced enough with headphones to really comment. I can say that they produce good sound compared to what I have used in the past and that I am pleased with that aspect of the headphones.

Phone Headset: I've made a couple of phone calls with these headphones, and the quality of the microphone seems as good as the stock headphones.

Range: The range on these headphones depend on where you're using them, as with any Bluetooth device. Inside my apartment, I can set my phone in the middle of the room and walk around freely with no interruption in music. Outdoors, while walking, I've experienced some interruptions while my iPhone is in my pocket. They are normally quick and cause no other issues, other than the sound cutting out for a brief moment. While this is annoying, I suspect the problem would be resolved by using an arm band to place the iPhone on the upper arm, as the product manual suggests. I'm satisfied with this and knew of this issue prior to purchasing them.

Fit: One issue with these headphones is that they only come with one size (but three pair of that size) of ear bud. While I think this is a fairly general size and they fit well in my ears, I doubt that that would be the case for everyone. I saw a suggestion to purchase Acoustibuds adapters if needed, and I'd probably suggest that for someone needing a different size ear bud. It's also a little bit of a struggle to get the buds fit into the ear correctly, but once done it shouldn't be too much of a concern.

Comfort: My main concern with these headphones was the seemingly bulky part that wraps around the ear. I saw a number of complaints regarding how they cause ears to stick out a little bit. As my ears stick out a little bit normally, I found this to not be a problem. The wrap is not particularly large, and they really don't feel heavy. I will probably not notice them after a little regular use. The cable running behind my head seemed a little short initially, but it seems to be a pretty good length. Overall, they were far more comfortable than other headsets I've used, which have been limited to headsets included with whatever device I owned at the time.

Ease of use: Pairing is extremely easy, as it is with most Bluetooth devices. I've connected it with my iPhone and Macbook with no issues, and it works fine with each of them. The buttons are a little difficult to press when the headphones are on your ear, but it's not too much of a problem. Because of the iPhone's lack of AVRCP support at the present time, I can't test out the forward and back track buttons on there. Volume control works as expected. These headphones can get fairly loud. Charging is really simple with the included docking station. I have no issues getting them to charge.

Overall: These are nice. I probably wouldn't be pleased with them if I didn't need the water/sweat resistance while working out. They seem solid, but for the price, I would have preferred a pair of Sennheisers. They're not a bad product at all, but they're not perfect either. I'd recommend them for people that need/want a Bluetooth headset for working out or otherwise damp conditions or someone that doesn't want a lot of extra wire, but otherwise, there are probably better options available.

"# 1 problem is the cord behind the neck" 2009-08-06
By Andrew C. Scherer (vacaville, CA)
I really wanted to like these. My problem with the Jaybirds is the fitting. The ear buds never fill snug in your ear, I'm constantly readjusting and readjusting. The # 1 problem is the cord behind the neck. I'm surprised not a lot of reviews mentioned this, but the damn cord sticks to the back of your neck and when you turn your head there goes one of the ear pieces dangling at your shoulder (my biggest annoyance with wired headphones). If it was not for this I might have kept mine, but I guess this is why there are many headphones that are built with a sold band behind the neck.

"Jaybird has a lot of work to do." 2009-07-28
By J. Boyle (Boston, MA)
Wearing these headphones is similar to being punched in the face. I feel as though I may as well have a couple of dog turds resting on my head. They push my ears out like a cartoon elf, and they don't come anywhere near fitting my ears. The end result? I am out 125 bucks, I can't hear my music or calls worth a damn, I look like an idiot, and I feel like a horse's behind. Thanks, Jaybird!
